Right in der Fuehrer's face

I dunno if I'm in the minority or not, but I'm hugely excited for Bryan Singer's "Valkyrie", Tom Cruise-starring true story of a handful of conscience-stricken Nazis and their attempt to assassinate Hitler [SPOILER! They didn't.] Cruise may have seemed like a weird choice to some, but his batshit insanity has caused a lot of people to forget he's a capable actor, not to mention his resemblance to Claus von Stauffenberg, the guy he's playing. [see above]. Not to mention the fact that Singer has proven quite adept with Nazis and group plans that go horribly wrong. Anyway, the new trailer for the film has been released, and yeah, I know, no one seems to be doing an accent, but you know what else fits that bill? "Amadeus", motherfuckers. The flick is out December 26th.

Heeeeey, so here I am, posting for the first time. How 'bout that. Anyway, as the title may indicate, this blog will be devoted to happenings in and reflections on the art of film, with shrill political commentary on off days when Quentin Tarantino hasn't pitched any new projects he'll never make.
First news item: Apparently someone (probably not Richard Matheson) decided that "I Am Legend" deserves a prequel. This same person went on to say "Sure, Ledger was a good Joker, but give me Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze any day." The proposed film would- get this- chronicle the time BEFORE the beasties start going after Will Smith's character. So, like the first movie, but without that pesky conflict. I dunno what they're gonna call it; I propose "I Am Well-Documented".
